Paper Boat (2012)

Perahu Kertas tells the story of the ups and downs of the relationship between two human children, namely Kugy and Keenan. The story begins when they both study in Bandung. Kugy, who dreams of becoming a fairy tale writer, studies at the Faculty of Letters. He has a unique habit, which is to make paper boats which he then throws in the river. Keenan, a talented young painter, was forced to study at the Faculty of Economics by his father. Together with Kugy's best friend since childhood, Noni, and Noni's girlfriend, Eko, who is also Keenan's cousin, the four of them become a compact gang. From initially admiring each other, Kugy and Keenan secretly fell in love with each other. But things got in their way. Not only that, Kugy and Noni's friendship broke when Kugy, in order to protect his heart, did not come to Noni's birthday party which was held at Wanda's house. Keenan finally went to the house of Pak Wayan, a painter who was Lena's old friend, and Keenan's mentor in painting. In a sad mood, Keenan's creativity in painting is dead. Luhde, Pak Wayan's nephew, managed to restore Keenan's spirit. A collector who subscribes to Wayan's gallery named Remi became the first buyer. Wanting to quickly leave Bandung and his old environment, Kugy struggled to graduate quickly. After graduating from the trial, Kugy's older brother, Karel, helped Kugy become an apprentice at an advertising agency called AdVocaDo owned by his friend, Remi. Kugy's work performance is brilliant, and attracts Remi's attention.
