Dapur Film, in collaboration with Historia Indonesia, hosted a public discussion exploring the historical events of 1964 depicted in the film Lobang Buaya. The forum, which brought together several historians and experts, was held at Blok M XXI in Jakarta on Sept. 8, 2026.
The discussion invited audiences to revisit events that unfolded long before the G30S/PKI events. Lobang Buaya village was reportedly already haunted by a series of mysterious killings, leaving questions over who was behind the violence.
Joined by director Hanung Bramantyo, the forum also provided a space to confront the fear and collective memory surrounding one of the darkest chapters in Indonesia’s history — a subject that has long been considered taboo.
