The Indonesian adaptation of Descendants of the Sun, directed by Hanung Bramantyo, has officially wrapped filming and is now entering post-production. The film is a loose adaptation of the hit Korean drama, reimagining its setting and conflicts within an Indonesian context.
Slated for a 2027 theatrical release, the film marks a cross-border collaboration between Indonesia and South Korea, with Dapur Film, NEWKO Global Entertainment, Dwi Warna Sentosa (Tobali Film), Next Entertainment World (NEW), and Barunson C&C attached to the project.
Reza Rahadian and Dian Sastrowardoyo are set to headline the film. Notably, the project marks the first time the two acclaimed Indonesian actors have been paired as the lead couple in a feature film.
