Iranian legendary film Children of Heaven (1997) has been successfully adapted and produced in Indonesia by MD Pictures, with acclaimed Indonesian filmmaker Hanung Bramantyo taking on the role of director.
The original Children of Heaven was written and directed by Majid Majidi, a renowned Iranian filmmaker known for his humanistic approach and emotionally compelling storytelling.
The success of the Indonesian adaptation is reflected in its achievement of five prestigious nominations at the 39th Bandung Film Festival (FFB).
The five nominations received by Children of Heaven include Best Indonesian Film, Best Director for Hanung Bramantyo, Best Leading Actor for Jared Ali, Best Production Designer for Bramantya Agusta, and Best Cinematographer for Faozan Rizal.
